Following a recent inspection by the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI), Giggleswick School has been awarded “Excellent” in an impressive six areas of provision.
The visiting team of inspectors looked at every aspect of life at the school and judged Giggleswick to be excellent in its curricular and extra-curricular activities, personal development of pupils, pastoral care, welfare and safety of pupils, leadership, management and governance.
The main findings of the report states that: “The school successfully achieves its aims of providing a supportive and stimulating education. Its core values of participation, respect and excellence permeate throughout.”
The inspectors identified that all pupils are academically well motivated and well educated in accordance with the aims of the school. Its School’s extra-curricular activities achieved particular praise, highlighting that “pupils enjoy many opportunities to participate in sport, outdoor activities and the performing arts.”
The report picks up on the confidence and personal development of Giggleswick’s pupils, stating that: “The School’s values support pupils who are happy, confident and comfortable in each other’s company. They show self-knowledge, self-esteem and self-confidence, and are open and assured.”
It also acknowledges the School’s excellence in pastoral care, noting that: “The excellent relationships between staff and pupils and amongst themselves are a strength of the community”.
Mark Turnbull, Headmaster said: “I am delighted for the pupils and staff that we have received such a positive endorsement of the outcomes that we work hard to achieve.”
Heather Hancock, Chair of Governors added: “This achievement is a credit to the whole school community at Giggleswick and a true reflection of the dedication of everyone involved.”
