Pupils at The Falcons Pre-Preparatory School for Boys are supporting a worthy children’s cause this Christmas with a ‘Giving Tree’. As part of this year’s PA Christmas Funday Appeal, the boys will be generously giving a gift rather than receiving one to support the charity KidsOut.
KidsOut provide a range of services to bring positive change to thousands of disadvantaged children throughout the UK. Each year, the charity works to bring fun and happiness to over 35,000 children, many of which are fleeing domestic abuse to seek sanctuary in refuge.
To aid the charity, the Chiswick-based school has decked the halls with a large Christmas tree, decorated with around 150 gift tags. Each tag on the Giving Tree features the name and wish of a child living in a Women’s Aid Federation refuge over the festive period.
Following a teacher’s assembly explaining the project, pupils at the school are selecting a tag themselves to take home and purchase the toy with their parents. The boys will then bring the gift into school for the PA Christmas Elves to distribute to the charity.
Headmaster Andrew Forbes commented: “Christmas is an exciting time for all children however, it can be difficult for those escaping domestic violence. We are honoured to be supporting this worthy cause and helping to give these children a Christmas to remember. It is inspiring to see the boys so enthusiastic and passionate about supporting KidsOut.”
