The students at Wellington Primary School have had an exciting run up to Easter, as they performed in their Easter bonnet parade and Easter play.
Last Tuesday, they took part in their Easter bonnet parade, where the children in years 3 and 4 wore their bonnets with pride, in the beautiful chapel, where friends and family came to support them and get into the Easter spirit.
Afterwards, they performed their play, where they presented an innovative “news reporter” version of the Easter story – there were some superb toe-tapping songs. The magnificent Chapel organ was played expertly by John Young, and as the sun poured in through the beautiful leaded windows, it felt as though Spring was just around the corner.
Every child that participated deserves a big well done as they worked extremely hard on their humorous, musical and well written and performed play. The reeling dancers and the extraordinary battle scenes will be remembered for a very long time. It’s lovely to see such talent in these 8 to 9 year olds.
