Dauntsey’s pupils have been busy over the Easter break travelling to Malta for the girls’ senior netball tour and Barbados for the senior cricket tour for boys.
On their tour to Malta, the girls performed brilliantly in their netball fixtures, winning eight out of nine matches. As well as team-building and training sessions, the pupils had the chance to explore the island, taking in a tour of Valletta and a boat trip to Gozo.
Kerri Bradley, Head of Netball, Dauntsey’s said: “The tour was a great success and we were thrilled with the match results – an exceptional record on foreign soil. Huge thanks go to the players and staff for making this trip an unforgettable experience.”
The boys won two and lost three of the matches completed and found time to take in the cultural and geographical highlights of this beautiful island, including a visit to the world-famous Kensington Oval Stadium and Legends Museum.
Andy Palmer, Head of Cricket, Dauntsey’s, said: “It was great to see how the group bonded on the tour, despite boys coming from four different year groups. Many of them made good cricketing progress during the trip and we are looking forward with optimism to the season ahead as we attempt to defend our Monkhouse Intersport League title.”
