Spratton Hall’s Year 8 pupils have spent time raising awareness and money for a charity of their choice, as part of the PSHCE syllabus. The charities chosen are selected for various reasons and often because of a personal interest on behalf of the pupils. This year the Year 8 pupils chose the following charities: Help for Hero’s, Alzheimer’s Society, Re-Track, Cancer Research, Northampton Hope Centre, Northants Carefree, Air Ambulance and Children’s Society.
The pupils spent time raising funds for their chosen charity through a diverse mix of events such as climbing Mt Snowdon, sponsored cycle rides, discos, swims, packing bags at shops, cake sales, home clothes days, selling Christmas cards, etc.
The benefit to everyone; pupils, staff and parents alike, is enormous and enables greater awareness of these different charities. Many of the pupils will continue their interest in the charity long after leaving Spratton Hall.
