Bedford Modern School Year 12 student, Vivek Mistry, is the first student at BMS to reach the final of the Schools’ Brightest Business Brain competition.
This is an annual competition for sixth form students which is sponsored by Deloitte and supported by companies such as Aviva, Microsoft and Hilton Hotels.
Out of 3,000 registered entrants, 17 year old Vivek reached the final of the competition, which is an amazing achievement. Vivek, who lives in Northamptonshire, is a member of one of Bedford Modern School’s Young Enterprise companies and at the final he had to complete a number of competency-based activities which tested him on his negotiation, team-work, leadership and problem-solving skills.
“The process involved a number of psychometric-type tests, interaction, communication and leadership skills and I was delighted to have reached the final of this prestigious competition,” said Vivek.
Vivek, who has 11 GCSEs, is studying maths, further maths, Spanish, economics and physics at A-level and intends to pursue a career in finance after university.
