Abbey College Manchester has consolidated its senior leadership team with the appointment of Chris Randell as assistant principal.
Chris joins the team at the leading independent college, with nine years’ senior leadership team experience in international schools, both in the Czech Republic and in the South of England. Prior to moving to Prague, Chris was a languages teacher and head of department at various large independent schools in the UK.
The new assistant principal commented: “Having worked with students from numerous countries, it is always enjoyable learning about different cultures, languages and life-experiences. International students add so much to our community here and we can all learn lots from each other. As a linguist, I believe it is very important to be able to communicate in various languages, and as a teacher, I believe that students must be encouraged to follow their passions and choose the best range of subjects to enable them to achieve their goals.
“We offer our students various different pathways here at Abbey College, including A-levels, International Foundation Programme and Combined Studies, and can individualise students’ timetables to suit them. The flexibility is great and offers all students the chance to succeed and get to where they want to be.”
Liz Elam, principal at Abbey College Manchester, added: “We are very excited about this new appointment. Chris is a great asset to our senior leadership team, bringing a wealth of knowledge and experience to the role, particularly with his international expertise.”
