Derby Grammar School pupil Adam Gentles is celebrating his win in the 2019 Derbyshire Futures Golf Tour.
The competition took place on seven different courses throughout Derbyshire, over the summer months. As well as winning the tour, he was also crowned champion for both the Gross and Nett categories. The awards presentation took place at Breasall Golf Club in October, where he was presented with his trophies.
Adam, aged 12 from Bretby, commented: “I sort of knew I might have won, but was really happy when my name was read out at the presentation evening. The hardest of the seven courses was definitely Kedleston, as it had the most challenging and longest holes.
“Now the season has finished I’ll be practising hard over the winter, on the course and at the driving range, ready for next season. The competitions start in the spring.”
Adam is hoping to represent the County U14s, as well as entering a number of national competitions in the 2020 season.
