Pupils at Rendcomb College have been selected to take part in an Olympic Shooting Experience this month organised by British Shooting, the governing body who oversee the development of world class shooters for the international stage.
British Shooting’s Talent Pathway Coordinator, Christian Schofield, is leading the event which aims to give young shooters an introduction to competition in an Olympic shooting format with a mixture of trap, skeet and sporting disciplines.
The four pupils from Rendcomb College have been selected to participate as they have shown excellent promise, leadership and accuracy during this year’s inter-schools competitions.
Rendcomb College’s Shooting Coach, Pete Cairns, said: “Shooting at Rendcomb College has gone from strength to strength in recent years and I am delighted that our best shots have been selected to participate in British Shooting’s event to have a taste of Olympic competition. They will be shooting in front of the governing body’s team selectors and talent spotters which will give them an excellent experience.
“The day will provide a fantastic shooting opportunity for our pupils to show their talent and try out the new Olympic style format.”
