Lockers Park has announced the appointment of Mrs Corrina Rogers as the school’s new Head of Maths, commencing this term. Mrs Rogers joins Lockers Park having gained extensive educational experience teaching mathematics at an array of secondary schools, including roles at St Albans School, Rickmansworth School and Tring School.
Mrs Rogers is passionate about growing pupils’ confidence in maths, ensuring they feel able to ask questions and thereby developing their own interest in and understanding of the subject. With high expectations of pupils, she knows the key to unlocking the complexities of maths lies in finding the right approach for each individual child.
Originally hailing from Bushey, near Watford, Mrs Rogers secured her BSc (Hons) in mathematics and PGCE at Leeds University and began her teaching career in Yorkshire before returning south. Now married with a young son and living in Hemel Hempstead, Mrs Rogers enjoys keeping up-to-date with current affairs, practising yoga and enjoying a spot of swimming and walking when time allows.
“I am delighted to be joining the team at Lockers Park,” says Corrina. “The school holds a first-rate academic reputation for creating happy and successful life-long learners and I am excited to be heading up the Maths department, helping to build on its existing strengths as well as expand and enhance its offering.”
Headmaster Christopher Wilson added: “In Corrina we believe that we have found the perfect blend of experience, empathy and drive to strengthen Lockers Park’s mathematics provision. With the school currently experiencing a period of growth, Corrina’s appointment will further reinforce our reputation as a school that delivers academic excellence while enabling pupils to explore their potential and develop into the best they can be.”
